Ethopian Jazz

I have just recently been listening to some Ethiopian Jazz. What got me started on it was a Film called Broken Dreams starring Bill Murray. I do like old Bill. He has come a long way since his Ghost-busting days. Life Aquatic (The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou) was one my all time favorite films that just grows on you the more you watch it. The first time I saw it i just thought it was weird. But every time I have seen it after that i think it is better and better. Broken Dreams is in a similar vein.

The story centers around the resolutely single Don has just been dumped by his latest lover, Sherry (Julie Delpy). Don yet again resigns himself to being alone and left to his own devices. Instead, he is compelled to reflect on his past when he receives by mail a mysterious pink letter. It is from an anonymous former lover and informs him that he has a 19-year-old son who may now be looking for his father and so begins his adventure into life’s that he could have led

I was drawn to the movie by an interview that was done on the radio. Mulatu Astatke who is shortly coming to London to play some concerts. Mulatu has been termed as the father of Ethiopian Jazz. I am still trying to get his latest recordings. As I suspect many more people will be doing also.

I did manage to find this on Amazon Ethio Jazz, Vol. 1

Going With the Flow

Life is simple; life is a lot of things. Sometimes you want to stand up and make a point about something and more importantly other times one should just go with the flow. Nobody can be all things to all people. It is good to sit back and the let the flow take you to your destination.

Working with the direction of the energy flow can be refreshing and vitalising.
